David and I made our way to Mary’s for a 5:30 reservation this year. We started out with a bottle of cabernet sauvignon and a goat cheese appetizer. This was followed by cracked red peppercorn soup, for me, and David chose the potato leak soup. We both had ceasar salads and then our entrees. David feasted on lamb and I devoured the surf and turf (lobster). We couldn’t stuff ourselves with anything else, so we got the desserts to go. After Mary’s we made our way by the Sanders house to wish them a Happy New Year. One vodka drink later we headed to Mollies, John Browns, and the Elks for a little dancing. The choices in Marion on NYE are slim to none so we made our rounds and the best of it. We were home before the new year and toasted to our wonderful time out tonight and life together. This afternoon, I had my walnut apple dessert draped in chocolate and David had his cheesecake. Happy New Year to All!

2009
Well, we made it four years….YIPPI. It is funny because David and I have been together for around 12 years and we are only going on our 4th year married. We go to Mary’s every year, it’s tradition, and have a wonderful dinner and yes, some wine too. I scanned the last three years of Mary’s pics. They take our picture every year and I think it is neat to look back at us and think how far we have come. I will add the picture they take of us tonight in a post to follow this one. I love you honey. Thanks for always making us number one in your life.

2008 - 5 months pregnant.....No wine for me last year!

David and I are really enjoying spending time with Ethan over the holiday break. He will be 9 months in January. Can you believe that? He is crawling and pulling up/walking holding on to something. He really LOVES his mom, as evident by his crying if I walk through the room and don’t pick him up. He is eating all kinds of solids and trying some of mom and dad’s dinner too. He loves to have a those puff snacks during playtime. I think he weighs around 20 pounds and we will see about his height at our next doc appt. He says DADA all the time and is beginning to say the “b” sound. He really likes his balls…ha…I mean the ones that roll around and I think that is why he is starting to say the b sound. He reaches for us and knows the word “up”. Bath time can’t come soon enough for him! He likes to splash and even for me to pour water over his head. He loves to see himself and us in the mirror. He smiles all the time and I think, he is the best thing in the world. Ethan has been watching a little bit of the baby Einstein DVD’s and really enjoys them. I didn’t think I would let him watch any tv, but it gives mom a much needed break sometimes. Sadie still makes him laugh and she puts up with him. Bedtime is hit and miss. He will sleep all night in his crib and then BAM….he wakes up the next night and wants to go to bed with me. I let him and then sneak him back into his crib (if I can make it without falling back to sleep myself). He is an early riser…5:30 most mornings……….can’t wait till that ends. Hope I caught you up a little bit because my blogging is few and far between these days. Sorry…I’ll try to do better. David and I are making it and love being parents. BTW David and I will be married 4yrs on NYE. That is our anniversary and I will try to blog about what we did or didn’t do soon……..
Ethan’s 1st Halloween was a success! My little Astronaut was a hit. He wore his costume for aprox 50 minutes and was done with it. We stayed home and had some visitors come by and see us. Christie, Mike and the kids came. Tosha, Tom and Mason dropped in. Chuck, Rachel, and Eli made an appearance. Christie S and Sydney were here…. and other friends were in and out. The kids, after trick or treating at a few houses, came back and passed out candy instead of partaking in trick or treating themselves. They liked passing out the candy better. It was fun to see the kids dressed up and it is starting to be somewhat of a tradition at our house to have people over instead of going out. Next year, I have plans to make it a little more festive for the kids and adults. We have had the same friends and family come over on Halloween for five years running, yes we have been in our home for five years now. I’m including a couple of pics. Have a great November everyone:)

1st Halloween

Trick or Treat

My little baby...awww

Tosha, Tom, and Mason...Great Pirate Costumes and Bumble B

Went to the new Walker’s Bluff this weekend with the whole fam. It was so much fun and great to see my niece and nephew, not to mention my sisters, for a while. Ethan stayed behind with Grandma Cricket and Grandpa Steve so Dave and I could enjoy the day baby free. Ethan is doing pretty good as he is getting over his first cold….Exhausting for mom and dad! I miss my sisters so much. We had a blast and can’t wait until we do it again. Love you guys.
Went to a new fest in Marion today. Ethan was such a good boy! He got to see his cousin, Eli, and play. We had a good time and he loved the music. He got to use his new stroller, play with the ducks, and get into a BIG truck. Great Day.

MORE MOM MORE
Eman is eating like a big boy in his highchair. The last couple of nights I’ve given him some solids before bed and he is really interested in eating. He even can hold the spoon. My friend, Andrea, bought him the cut bib. Hope I can get the tater stain out..ha

DELISH

Dad hanging Eman upside down...I turned it around to post it...Funny
Have to blog about David for a minute. He woke up last night, around 1:30, to feed Ethan and put him back to sleep. This was the first time David has done this. We talked about him doing it on a Friday night over some drinks and AHEM….He came through. Of course I got up with him to walk him through the process and he was like a pro. Soooo…….am I expecting him to do this more often? Of course! Sorry honey, now that I know you can do it, well, I’d like you to do it more…hahahha. It was so funny when I woke David up to feed him. He got up and said, “I don’t see why we both have to be up to do this.” (as he stubled through the house in his undies to get Ethan). Just have to give him a big thumbs up for the effort and helping me get a few extra ZZZZZZZZZZZZ’s. He also just took Ethan on a stroller ride and put him to sleep. David you are doing a SUPER job and I just have to say Thanks and I Love You! xoxoxo

Sitting up like a big boy!
My new favorite thing is pj’s. Ethan looks so cute in his new pj’s from GG. Thanks Eman Loves them!
